Growing up

Here is my second entry in my business blog. A short summary of my background, I grew up in the 80s in a small town in central California. The town of Delano is a farm town with only one high school. My mother was very young and my dad wasn’t around so I grew up mostly in my grandparents house like a lot of people. I got interested in business young by my grandpa, Willie, who was old school and owned his own repair business. He would repair appliances like refrigerators and washing machines. My backyard was littered with dozens and dozens of non working fridges and washers ,maybe 50, and a tree house right in the center. It was an epic game of “The Floor is Lava” and I played it nearly everyday for 13 years. My grandpa wasn’t the greatest business man, He spoke broken English as well as fluent Spanish and the people of the town could always find a discount and often a free repair, even a swap, which is how we ended up with so many stones for my Lava game. He passed from a heart attack at 72, leaving behind my grandma Otilia and 9 of 10 children, and too many grand and great grand kids to count. He was a pretty awesome Dad.
